Saturday Sprints: Vern's No Frills 5K

  

  Today I ran my first 5K and, I have to admit, I'm pretty satisfied with my results!  Out of 109 female contestants, I placed 8th and out of the total 219 contestants, I placed 44th (here is a link to the results).  My time was 24 minutes and 41 seconds; just under an 8 minute/mile pace.  Not too bad for competing in my longest race to date and my last competition being around fourteen years ago.  I'm proud of myself.  Now on to the mudrun!
